well actually thats just a poetic title cos they were both caugh on an intermediate line from the pond at Carrickmanon trout fishery. total bag 4 and a half pounds not brilliant but first rainbows i have caught in a long time.
well done i fished moorbrook at castlerock 2day got nothing a few fish where taken but there was a strong cold wind blowing which made it hard fishing, most where useing sinking lines i only had a floater on, will try it again when the weather is a bit better
i made some enquiries with the owner of the fishery hes a sound gentleman. he said he'd write a day ticket for pike in the main lake for a tenner he has boats for hire too.
the lake was netted a while back and one pike weighed around 31 pounds id like to geet me some of that. i hooked these two on a intermediate line with a slow figure of eight retrieve. bigger one put up a good scrap.
