was taken on the gelnarriffriver, but whatever u do dont tell anyone, especially the locals, if they know there fish in, they will net the whole river. was at ballycastle too and there was a guy fishing for salmon that maybe lost there way to the bush and went up the margy, i seen a few seatrout there too, but they were having none of it

yes mate, the guys on another forum also thought it could be spent, but it has pink flesh and spent fish would go brown after 5 minutes on the bank. this time of the year is the best time for the seatout around the glens, not to early at all where i fish.

on the finn and mourne and foyle i would return all white trout ( sea trout) up until the beginning of May. is the glenarriff renowned for early sea trout. are they darker as a result of the water. where can you get a ticket to fish it and is night fishing allowed on a day ticket. not too far from belfast is it?

day tickets are avaiable from oneils tackle cushen dall, think its only a fiver. to join the club its 30 but, which is 6 day tickets lol. but dunno if theres room at the moment(there trying get get as much locals in it as possible so they dont poach). glenarriff always gets a fresh run of seatrout, but they dont last long im afraid, once the locals see them, there netted that night. night fishing isnt a problem, but dawn and dusk seem the best times, considering the tide is out. when tehres no seatrout you always have a bit of fun with the escaped rainbows from the fish farm on up river, sometimes get them to 6lb.
by the way the club also owns teh fishing rights to cushendall and glendunn rivers. glendun is a good late salmon river

sounds good, i have always preferred trout fishing to salmon fishing. i will definitely have to get a day down there whe i get driving. you may think im bullshitting but on the morne at strabane bridge my best night was 16 fresh white trout sea liced alot of them from 3/4 of pound to the best at 2 pound weight some of the older fisherman from the town can double that in a few hours. that was on worm. ive had half dozen regular on the fly i use to catch and release most of the white trout i caught.

as a matter of interest what takes you on the journey to the moy. i was under the impression that the fishing is very expensive and it must involve alot of travelling or do you have connections down there. you should give the mourne and finn a try i heard the finn is producing springers at the moment and the mourne opens tomorrow.

knoc we go to the moy for a week every june. then a few eekends, but go early saturday qand stay till late sunday, costs 25 euros each overnight. the angling is pricey at places, but the canal strewcthes on up above ballina, such as armstrongs, rinnany, knockmore are all around 20 euros. and i tell you what, the fishing is just as good there, but it aint fly water. couldnt live without the moy
