just found this site tonite
I`m into fly fishing for trout and a bit of course fishing recently took up pike fishing as well.
Can be found blanking @ stonyford & ballykeel to name but a few most weekend s during the season

I fish stoneyford the odd time too, like leadenstown(cant spell it lol) aswell. you had any fish from stoneyford yet? i was thinking about going up last sunday

knock. can i fish for pike with a river permit or do i need a coarse fishing permit

u would need to check in your local fishing shop.
but your game fish rod licence will cover all fish
and your game angling permit should cover all species of fish including pike. once you cross onto the south. if you want a good introducory water for pike fishing got the oaks trout fishery outside derry 15 quid for a day. catch and release. he has all the baits u need down ther
boat hire is 10 quid for a day. its producing big pike.

knock. would i get away with a salmon spinning outfit to fish for pike at the oaks fishery, what bait/baits would you recommend, would the flying c be any good

salmon spinning outfit should be ok. 15lb line braided is good too. a ten foot spinnning rod should do. most important is your traces for mounting your dead bait and spinning traces. plugs such as rapala work well. lures are supposed to be over six inches. to prevent foul hooking and hooking of trout. baits are on sale there good selectio. live bait is better live roach if you can get them
