This rig is ideal for fishing for salmon or seatrout in slow deep rivers, such as the moy and bann.
What you need, hook( ) 2 swivles, drilled weight, float, stop knots 1 rubber bead and 1 plastic bead.
First of you've got your hook, what hook you use it up to yourself, i prefer a size two silver bait hook.
Then you have 18 inches of tippet.
Then a barrel swivel
Above this you have a stop knot. this is so the weight doesnt wear away at the knot connecting the swivel.
Above this you have a drilled bullet/egg, the size will depend on the speed of the current.
Then another 18 inches of tippet, to connect to another barrel swivel. the reason there is two swivels, is so that when casting, the rig will follow through in the air, while the float will hold back. this prevents the rig wrapping around the float when it hits the water
Then above this swivel you have a rubber bead. this is to stop the swivel stuck inside the float, and being rubber, it wont wear away at the knot, unlike plastic beads
Then you have your float, again size depends on current, this should be put on upside down. the reason for this, is that bites show up better, and it causes more drag on the water, so your worms will fish slower
Above the float you have another bead, any sort this time
Above this you have 2 stop knots. this stops the bead and float when in the water. the depth of the water you are fishing will be the distance from the float to the stop knots.
